Solar-panel cleaning enquiries in Cornwall
A careful approach to a working installation. Cleaning enquiries for suitable, safely serviceable solar panels, with access and the manufacturer's guidance considered before work is agreed.
Start with the installation, not an output promise
Visible bird fouling, dirt and other deposits can prompt questions about panel care. Cleaning suitability depends on the actual modules and the installation—not simply the number of panels. Kernow Clean considers enquiries across Cornwall and will need enough information to assess whether the array can be serviced safely and within an appropriate cleaning scope.
Domestic arrays
Send the panel count, installation height and photographs taken safely from the ground. Include roof lights, extensions and conservatories that affect access. Do not climb onto a roof for the enquiry.
Ground-mounted installations
Show the surrounding ground, access route, fencing and any vegetation. The presence of panels at lower height does not remove the need to assess electrical and working-area risks.
Managed and commercial property
Provide the site contact, access arrangements and any contractor requirements. Larger or complicated installations may need a specialist provider; a quotation is subject to suitability, not guaranteed by location.
Follow the right product guidance
Panel manufacturers publish module-specific cleaning and safety instructions. Canadian Solar's manual, for example, sets out precautions for cleaning its products and warns about damage from unsuitable methods. That is not a universal procedure for every brand. Product identification and installation condition should guide the assessment. Solar panels can remain electrically active in daylight; cleaning must not be treated as ordinary window washing or an opportunity for DIY electrical inspection.
Material-care reference: Canadian Solar module installation and cleaning manual (PDF). The guidance is background information, not an endorsement of this business; the actual product and site govern suitability.

Beyond the visit
Results and aftercare
For faults, cracked modules, damaged wiring or unexplained output changes, contact a qualified solar installer or appropriate electrical professional. Cleaning is not electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis or a warranty inspection. Any change in generation depends on weather, shading, system condition and the original soiling; Kernow Clean does not promise a percentage increase.
Photographs help the initial assessment. They do not replace any necessary inspection or agreement of the method, scope and access before work.
Your questions, answered
Will cleaning increase electricity generation?
Removing deposits may help where soiling is affecting the panels, but no specific gain can be promised. Changes in sunlight, weather, shading and system performance make simple before-and-after comparisons unreliable.
Can every rooftop array be cleaned?
No. Safe access and the module and installation requirements must be assessed. Some arrays may be unsuitable or require a specialist access arrangement or provider.
Should I switch equipment off or handle cables?
Do not alter electrical equipment on the strength of a website enquiry. Any necessary isolation or system work must follow the correct instructions and be handled by an appropriate competent professional.
Is cleaning a repair or service of the electrical system?
No. The proposed work is surface cleaning where suitable. Suspected faults or damaged panels require the appropriate installer or electrical specialist before cleaning is considered.
