Exterior conservatory cleaning in Cornwall

Cleaning for suitable exterior conservatory roofs, glazing, frames and gutters, planned around the material, coating, seals, condition and safe access. Tell Kernow Clean which parts need attention so the proposed scope is clear before work begins.

Start with the structure, not a one-product promise

A conservatory combines different materials and exposed details in one structure. A method suitable for a white uPVC frame is not automatically suitable for coated glass, polycarbonate roof sheets, seals, vents, finials or adjacent painted surfaces.

Roof panels and glazing

Suitable exterior glass or polycarbonate can be considered after the roof product, coatings, condition and manufacturer care requirements are identified as far as practical.

Frames and exterior details

Frames, sills, finials, cresting, downpipes and accessible exterior details can be assessed separately. Age, decorative films, paint and weathering can limit the achievable finish.

Gutters and roofline drainage

Exterior gutter washing and clearing debris from inside a gutter are different tasks. Tell us which result you need so each item can be included or excluded clearly.

A clear route from enquiry to quotation

How a conservatory-cleaning enquiry works

  1. Show the whole structureSend photographs from safe ground positions showing the roof, frames, gutters, nearby walls and access.
  2. Describe the finishTell us whether the roof is glass or polycarbonate and mention self-cleaning glass, coatings, decorative films or known damage.
  3. Assess method and accessHarlan considers materials, condition, height, obstacles, surrounding areas and manufacturer instructions before agreeing a method.
  4. Confirm the scopeThe quotation identifies the exterior areas included, practical assumptions, exclusions, preparation and the proposed next step.

Coatings, seals and product instructions matter

Some conservatory glazing is designed with a specialist coating, including products described as self-cleaning glass. These surfaces still need care, and unsuitable cleaners, abrasive tools or scraping can affect a coating or finish. Polycarbonate, glass and decorative frame films can also have different care instructions.

If you have the conservatory installer’s paperwork or know the glazing and roof product, include that information in the enquiry. Unknown materials should not be treated as though they are standard uncoated glass or white uPVC.

Cleaning improves suitable exterior surfaces; it does not repair cracked panels, failed seals, misted glazing units, leaks, loose trims, damaged gutters or faded coatings. Suspected defects need the appropriate installer or repair specialist.

A quotation based on the property

What affects the quote

  • Size, height, roof pitch and number of elevations
  • Glass, polycarbonate, frame finish and known coatings
  • Level and type of organic build-up or staining
  • Safe access around extensions, boundaries and uneven ground
  • Whether roof, glazing, frames, details and gutters are all required
  • Protection, runoff control and surrounding property features

Safe access comes before appearance

Do not walk on a conservatory roof or lean across it to obtain quotation photographs. High, fragile or awkward glazing needs an appropriate access plan, and an enquiry may need to be declined or limited when a safe controlled method cannot be established.

For careful low-level maintenance guidance, read how to clean uPVC, house plastics, fascias and soffits safely. That guide does not replace a product manufacturer’s instructions or a safe-access assessment.

Conservatory-cleaning questions

Does the service include the inside of the conservatory?

No. This page describes exterior conservatory cleaning. Internal glass, blinds, furnishings and interior surfaces are not assumed to be included.

Can self-cleaning glass still be cleaned?

It may still need maintenance, but the exact glazing product and its manufacturer instructions matter. Self-cleaning or coated glass must not be treated as ordinary uncoated glass without checking what is compatible.

Can you clean a polycarbonate conservatory roof?

Suitable polycarbonate may be considered after its condition, surface instructions and safe access are reviewed. Abrasive tools, unsuitable products and walking on the roof are not part of a careful cleaning plan.

Are the gutters included?

Only when stated in the quotation. Washing the outside of a conservatory gutter and removing debris from inside it are separate tasks, even when it is practical to quote them together.

Will cleaning fix leaks or failed seals?

No. Cleaning is not a repair service. Cracked glazing, failed seals, misted units, loose components and leaks need the appropriate conservatory or glazing specialist.

Will every mark come off?

No fixed result suits every material or condition. Organic build-up and ordinary dirt may respond well, while permanent weathering, staining, scratches, fading or coating failure can limit the finish. The quotation should set realistic expectations.

Related exterior care

Conservatory work often sits beside roofline plastics, rainwater systems and other exterior areas. Each service should still be identified clearly in the quotation.

If pets, delicate planting, a pond or another sensitive area is close to the conservatory, mention it in the first enquiry so it can be considered before a product or method is proposed.
