Plant- and pet-conscious exterior cleaning in Cornwall
Exterior cleaning planned around your patio, driveway, walls or roof—and the plants and pets nearby. Tell Harlan what needs protecting so a suitable product, method and access plan can be assessed before the work is agreed.
Pet-return details are provided upon enquiry and confirmed for the agreed product and method before work starts.
An alternative to assess when the surroundings matter
Some customers want the proposed product and method to give particular consideration to planting, pets or other sensitive garden areas. Ask during the enquiry so the alternative can be assessed as part of the quotation rather than assumed to suit every property.
Discuss the alternatives
Ask for the plant- and pet-conscious option when you call or request a quotation. Make the priority clear before the cleaning method is agreed.
Planned around the property
The surface, staining, planting, pet areas, drainage, nearby water and weather all affect what is suitable and how the work should be managed.
Used as directed
Product selection, dilution, application, dwell time, access restrictions, rinsing and disposal follow the relevant product label and safety information.

An alternative product still requires professional care
No cleaning product should be treated as risk-free simply because it has been selected with planting or animal areas in mind. Correct product choice, dilution, targeted application, access control, rinsing and runoff management may still be required by the current label and safety information.
The Health and Safety Executive explains that a safety data sheet supports a chemical risk assessment but is not a complete risk assessment by itself. Before an alternative is proposed, Kernow Clean checks the current product information against the intended use and keeps people and animals clear while work is taking place and for any stated re-entry period.
Runoff matters as well as the cleaning product. Current Environment Agency pollution-prevention guidance says a business must not cause or allow pollution to enter air, water or ground. The property and drainage route therefore form part of the proposed method.
Take photographs from a safe position and include the surrounding planting, animal areas and drainage. Mention anything that is outside the photograph or difficult to see.
The HSE and GOV.UK links provide independent background guidance. They do not endorse Kernow Clean. The exact product label, current safety data and the actual property determine the appropriate controls.
Questions about the plant- and pet-conscious option
Can I ask about an alternative to the usual cleaning product?
Yes. Ask about the plant- and pet-conscious option at the start of your enquiry. Harlan will consider whether an alternative is suitable for the surface, staining, surroundings and result you need before the work is agreed.
Is it used automatically on every job?
No. Ask about suitable alternatives when enquiring. Product availability and the proposed method must be confirmed against the surface, growth, planting, pets, drainage and current manufacturer instructions before booking.
When can pets use the area again?
Pet-return details are provided upon enquiry and confirmed for the agreed product and method before work starts. There is no single waiting time for every product, surface or animal. Instructions cover any rinsing, drying and access restrictions. Do not assume that an alternative product permits immediate access, or that a dry surface alone confirms it is ready for pets.
Do I still need to tell you about pets and planting?
Yes. Tell Kernow Clean about all pets, animal areas, ponds, edible planting, recent planting and other sensitive features. Clear photographs help identify what needs to be considered before quotation.
Does this option mean no precautions are needed?
No. Appropriate use depends on choosing a suitable product and following its current label and safety information. Any specified dilution, access restriction, rinsing, drying, runoff or disposal instruction must still be followed, and people and animals should remain clear for the stated period.
Can it be used beside a pond or water feature?
Do not assume that it can. Ponds, tanks and water features must be disclosed during the enquiry. The exact product instructions, the drainage route and the ability to prevent contamination determine what is appropriate.
Will the alternative achieve the same result on every surface?
No fixed result suits every surface or type of staining. The achievable finish, method and likely timescale depend on the material, condition and growth present. The quotation should set realistic expectations.

Tell us what needs cleaning and what needs protecting.
Call Harlan or request a callback and explain which plants, pets or sensitive areas need consideration. If you prefer to send photographs and property details first, use the detailed quotation form. You do not need to complete both forms.
